Think Pharmacy first

Your local pharmacy is a quick, easy way to get expert healthcare advice for common illnesses like coughs, colds, aches and pains.

Highly trained pharmacy teams can assess symptoms, offer treatment, and in some cases provide prescription medicines without needing a GP appointment.

You can speak to your pharmacist in confidence, often in a private consultation area, about even the most personal health concerns.

Your GP surgery is here for you

Your local GP surgery offers a wide range of family health services—from advice on staying well and preventing illness, to vaccinations, examinations, treatment and prescriptions. They can also refer you to other health services when specialist care is needed.

GP practices have a whole team ready to help, including nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, pharmacists and healthcare assistants. You don’t always need to see a GP—the receptionist can help guide you to the right professional for your needs.

Many practices offer urgent appointments, evening and weekend services, as well as online booking, repeat prescriptions and online consultations. Remember to keep your appointment or let the surgery know if you need to cancel or change it.

Visit GP Surgery - Let's Get Better or your GP practice website to find out what services are available and how to access them.

North Yorkshire Council, invites you to input into an online consultation hub regarding the update of the North Yorkshire Landscape Character Assessment (LCA).

North Yorkshire Council have commissioned LUC to update the North Yorkshire Landscape Character Assessment (LCA), which will form part of their new Local Plan evidence base.

The assessment will provide an update and refresh of the existing 2011 North Yorkshire and York Landscape Characterisation LCA, drawing together information within the existing district-level LCAs and cross referencing the National Park LCAs. The updated study will provide a single, overarching and unified assessment for North Yorkshire. Since 2011, there have been significant changes in national planning policy and environmental management guidance, as well as newly identified forces for change and changes on the ground. The updated study will reflect these changes and provide the Council with a comprehensive, accessible, and fit-for-purpose resource to support effective decision-making and landscape management across the study area.

The link to the hub is here: https://north-yorkshire-landscape-character-luc.hub.arcgis.com/

The consultation on the proposed Local Planning Enforcement Plan is now live. The consultation is open for 6 weeks closing at midnight on Monday 9th March 2026.

The consultation is hosted on the ‘Objective Portal,’ which is the Planning Policy consultations part of the Council’s website. All comments and views received during the consultation process will thereafter be reviewed and considered. The consultation can be accessed directly using the following link:  https://northyorks-consult.objective.co.uk/kse/
